Internet giant Yahoo! has roped in worldwide Soccer icon ‘David Beckham’ as its "global sports ambassador" for its ad campaign ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Yahoo will now feature a separate online channel for David Beckham to broadcast his message to nearly 600 million users in 20 countries. The financial terms between Yahoo! and Beckham were undisclosed. Beckham’s contract will be running through September with the potential for it to be extended.
Beckham, who is with the England team, but not a part of the World Cup squad because of a ruptured Achilles tendon will share his thoughts and experience in three consecutive World Cup championships and his club experiences in both Europe and the US.
This ad campaign ensures David Beckham’s participation throughout the soccer tournament from June 11th to July 11th. Rafael Nadal regains World no.1 in ATP Rankings

Congratulates Rafael Nadal for winning the title on Roland Garros clay for the fifth time in six years. The 24-year-old fellow Spaniard beat Swedens' Robin Soderling 6-4 6-2 6-4. (Nadal lost to the Sweden in last year's fourth round).
The man, who lost the French Open title and the no.1 ranking 12 months ago finally, banished his own doubts about whether he will be able to return to his very best form after a series of injury problems.
Nadal who has been "The Man on clay" from the very first year he played at Roland Garros described his 7th Grand Slam victory last Sunday as "one of the most important".
With this victory, Rafael Nadal returned to No. 1 spot in ATP rankings this Monday, supplanting his rival Roger Federer since last June. Federer was just left one week short of matching Pete Sampras' career record of 286 total weeks at No. 1.
Nadal now has a clear 22-0 record on clay this season. It will be even bigger next year at Roland Garros, for it will be Nadal against history. Nadal will compete to equal Bjorn Borg's record of six French Open titles as the Spaniard attempts to cement his status of the best ever on the clay surface.
FIFA releases 53k extra tickets
Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has decided to put some 50k tickets on sale for the World Cup 2010. Most of these tickets are unsold hospitality packages. Nearly 38k top end tickets with a price band of $200 will go on sale on monday along with the 15k tickets along with the partially restricted view.
These tickets will be on sale only at shops at South Africa. It will not be put on sale online. These tickets will not include seats for the opening matches between the host South Africa and Mexico on June 11th, semifinals or the finals on July 11th.
The ticket sale has been in slow pace ion South Africa and is in demand in Germany where six people apply for each available ticket. FIFA has apologiosed to thousands of soccer fans around the world for technical problems that halted the transactions for online ticket booking last week. Roger Federer out of French open

For the first time in six years French Open will have semifinal without defending champion and world no.1 Roger Federer.
World no.5 Robin Soderling did it again on tuesday beating Federer in a rain hit quarterfinal, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4 on Philippe Chatrier Court. This has put an end to Federer's record of reaching the semifinals in 23 consecutive major tournaments. He is also the first man to beat Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros.
Federer, who beat Soderling in last year's final had no option this time and played a defensive match. Soderling was seen with some tremendous improvement with his thunderous strokes.
Soderling will now play world's 15th seeded Tomas Berdych in semifinal.
